Page Proud Of 'Gutsy' Performance

19 August 2015

Port Vale manager Rob Page was proud of his side's 'gutsy' performance at Swindon Town, claiming the draw felt 'like a win'.

Sam Foley converted a last-gasp penalty at the County Ground to earn the Valiants a point after Fabien Robert and Anton Rodgers had given the hosts the lead.

Uche Ikpeazu also scored in the first half, his first goal for the club, as Page's side battled their way to a well-deserved result.

Speaking to Valiant PlayerHD, the Vale boss expressed his delight at the display his players produced.

"I'm really proud of them again for a gutsy performance," he said. "We had a little bit of luck with the equaliser but I think you create your own luck.

"I think we thoroughly deserved it, I thought we grew into the game second half, we had quite a bit of the ball and at times we had to defend like we knew we were going to have to.

"But at the moment it feels like a win, to come here and be two-one down and in the dying moments through their lack in concentration and discipline and we capitalise on it and we get our just rewards."
