Vale Boss Eyes Evening Win Under Floodlights

wants his side to play with commitment and high intensity against Preston North End on Friday night. Rob PagePort Vale manager

The Lilywhites make the trip to Vale Park for the third meeting between the side this season after previous clashes at Deepdale in Sky Bet League One and the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

The Valiants are hoping to build on their three-point cushion above the relegation zone, while Preston will be aiming to extend their lead over the chasing pack for the second automatic promotion spot.

Page oversaw a well-earned draw against MK Dons in Vale’s last home game and the 40-year-old is hoping for a similar sort of performance against Preston.

Speaking to Valiant Player, he said: “From the first minute we’ll respect what they’re all about, they’re on a great run, they’re pushing for automatic promotion.

“But from our points we need the points as badly as them, if not more so, and we’ll be fully committed to it from the first whistle.”
