Vale reserves take on Walsall this afternoon in their opening fixture in the Final Third Development League at the Scholar’s Ground, home of Chasetown FC.(kick off 2.00pm)
The Valiants won the corresponding fixture 2-1 last season, with goals from Jordan Hugill (2) and Gavin Tomlin, both of whom have since left for pastures new.
Vale will field a strong side this afternoon, with several of the first team squad looking to push their claims for inclusion in Saturday’s game against Bradford City at the Coral Windows Stadium.
