Rob Page Proud Of Work Rate Against Rochdale

15 November 2014

Vale Boss Pleased With His Side's Effort

Port Vale manager Rob Page was proud of the effort of his players following their 1-0 win over Rochdale.

Michael Brown scored the decisive goal just after the hour mark to give the Valiants a vital victory against Keith Hill’s side.

Much had been made about Vale's defensive absentees prior to the game but a good performance, capped off with a clean sheet, quelled those fears.

Speaking to Valiant Player, Page admitted he was delighted with his side’s work rate and praised his back four.

“We’re really pleased,” he said. “We had to work hard for it, albeit with a makeshift back four as well, which I thought were outstanding.

“They won some big headers late on for us to take the pressure off but, all in all, I’m proud of everyone of them today, they put a great effort and shift in.”
