A fan's view of things Port Vale
Another season is almost over and we can look back on this one with a degree of pride. For our first season at this level for six years to finish in the top half, as we must do, adds up to a very successful campaign in my eyes. That also means we will be seeded in the first round of the League Cup next season – heady days!

Now that we know what the division is all about, the next step would be to push on a bit, but a few things need sorting out first. Obviously the manager’s future needs sorting out because that is crucial to any progress, and hopefully that will be done in the next few weeks. The retained list for players will be announced probably next week and then we need to see what the budget will allow to bring in new players.
The basis for continued improvement is there, let’s make sure we keep it.
