February Nominations

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

FEBRUARY NOMINATIONS

The February nominations for the

Sky Bet League 1

Player of the Month Award are:

Lee Frecklington (Rotherham United)midfielder

Inspired by his new role as stand-in captain, the central midfielder was everywhere in February, tackling back, spreading play and striding forward to score three goals, including a lovely tight-angled finish against Preston North End.

Michael Jacobs (Wolverhampton Wanderers)midfielder

Made a huge impact with four goals in three games. Joining in the attack, he scored twice against Notts County and again in the 3-0 win at Brentford, arriving at pace for the first and striking a composed curler for the second.

Gary Jones (Bradford City)midfielder

The veteran re-discovered his zest, driving his side on by example at both ends to turn around their fortunes. The highlights were two wonderful long-range strikes in the 3-3 draw against Crewe Alexandra, one with his left foot, the other his right.

Owain Fon Williams (Tranmere Rovers)goalkeeper

At his spectacular shot-stopping best in February. A wonderful display at Milton Keynes Dons helped Rovers seal a vital 1-0 win. He pulled off a key triple save against Coventry City and a jaw-dropping, back-arching effort against Preston North End.
