McGivern who was plying his trade in the Scottish Premier League with Hibernian last season, after signing in 2013 after a successful loan from Manchester City where he started out as a youngster, is just in time for the start of pre-season which commences tomorrow.
While at Manchester City, the Irish defender spent time on loan at a number of clubs over a five year period including Morecambe, Leicester City, Walsall, Crystal Palace and Bristol City where he collectively made 67 appearances. He then went on loan to Edinburgh-side Hibernian where he made 27 appearances, before signing full-time last summer and becoming a mainstay in the side last season.
