Port Vale love pots!

14 February 2014

Why not treat someone you love?

At Port Vale we are proud to announce that each week we will be recommending a recipe for you to try.

Below we will be talking you through our first "Port Vale recommended recipe."

This week we will be having a Valentines special, 'Double Chocolate Love Pots!'

Make sure you log on each week to get a new special recipe. All of the recipes have been donated from a Port Vale member of Staff, Player or Management.

If you would like to donate a recipe send in your suggestions to heather.corbett@port-vale.co.uk

RECIPE 1 - Double Chocolate Love Pots!!

Ingredients

25g white chocolate
50g dark chocolate, chopped
2 large egg whites
1 tbsp caster sugar
A generous pinch ground cardamom

Instructions

You start at the end with this delicious recipe. Firstly make chocolate curls from the white chocolate by running a swivel peeler over the surface.

Make sure you have enough for four pots, alternatively half the entire recipe and make two chocolate pots! (I find it's easier to make four & that way you can have the other two later in the night OR continue your Valentines plans all weekend.)

Chopped the remainder of the white chocolate so that they are thumb nail sized.

Put the dark chocolate in a glass bowl over a saucepan of simmering water OR in the microwave on Medium for 1½-2 mins. Leave to cool slightly. (If the chocolate looks like its burning I suggest putting in a tiny tbsp of milk to help it.)

Whisk the egg whites until stiff, then whisk in the sugar and cardamom. With a big wooden spoon, fold in the melted chocolate, then gently fold in the chopped white chocolate.

Divide between 4 small dishes or cups, about 100ml in size. Sprinkle over the white chocolate curls and chill until ready to serve, at least 1 hr.
