Manager Talks To Valiant Player Ahead Of Blades Clash

  • Page glad Lines' suspension is now over
  • Hoping for a big crowd at Vale Park on Boxing Day
  • Manager knows Nigel Clough's side will provide tough test

Port Vale boss Rob Page is delighted to have Chris Lines available for selection against Sheffield United and over the festive period following the midfielder’s suspension.

The 29-year-old picked up a straight red card last month in the Valiants’ 1-0 loss at MK Dons, meaning he missed the Gillingham, Coventry City and Crawley Town games.

Prior to his ban, Lines had been a key part of Page’s midfield alongside Michael O’Connor and Michael Brown.

Speaking to Valiant Player ahead of Boxing Day’s clash with Sheffield United, Vale manager Page was pleased to have the midfielder eligible again.

“It’s a busy period and to have big players like Linesy back, who has been a massive part for certainly when Micky left and I took over that first few results he’s been terrific,” he said.

“To have a player of his quality back eligible for the Christmas period is definitely a bonus.”
