A supporter's view of things Port Vale

Why Lloyd’s a banker for success

High worker ethic, grit, determination with a sprinkling of pace, panache and technical ability… all the attributes which have made a successful wide man at Vale over the years. The system successfully employed by a certain John Rudge during the 1990’s thrived off such players. Fast forward to 2013 and there may be another quality winger “winging” their way to the Vale first team. That man is Ryan Lloyd, a winger who has already won extensive praise for his work ethic and ability from Tamworth manager Dale Belford following his successful loan spell there. Added to firm interest from Fulham the equation equals one thing, which is that with a little work on his strength Lloyd looks like he could well take us back to the halcyon days of wing wizardry from mercurial players like Jon McCarthy , Steve Guppy or err… Jeff Smith. Either way it’ll be interesting to see how Lloyd takes his chance when it comes.
