Fantasy Football Update

2 October 2013

We take a look at two fantasy teams

With 429 teams now in the league it is quite an achievement to reach the top 50 in the table, so let’s have a look at one such team that currently occupies 40th spot – The Fantastic 15, managed by Neil Murphy.

Neil’s team managed an impressive 88 points this last week, but if you look at his defence, you wonder how he managed it.

In goal with 3 points is Simon Mognolet and then Neil elected to go for a back three of Pablo Zabaleta (1), Leighton Baines (0) and Seamus Coleman (1) – that’s a total of 5 points from four players

He added another 2 points with his next choice, midfielder Mesut Özil, but then things began to get really tasty. Yaya Touré (9), Gylfi Sigurdsson (9), and Aaron Ramsey (13) complete the midfield.

It was Neil’s strike force that really did the damage, however, netting a tasty 50 points between them - Luis Suárez (Captain, 26) Romelu Lukaku (16) and Rickie Lambert (8).

So, How about somebody from the Club? Who has caught they eye this week? Well that has to be the Vale Head Physio Andy Foster, with his team, The Fixers.
Again the real damage as far as Andy is concerned was done by his two midfielders and three strikers. Yaya Touré (9 points) and Aaron Ramsey (13), followed by Daniel Sturridge, (14), Wayne Rooney (Captain, 16) and Romelu Lukaku (16). Andy has managed an enviable 82 points this week.

The message is clear, if you want to move up the league, make sure you keep up to date with your transfers and team selection and also, concentrate on your strikers because that is obviously where the big points can be earned.

Throughout the season we will feature random teams in the matchday programme and occasionally on the club’s website, so keep an eye out, you may well get a mention.
