First round match scheduled for week commencing August 5.
The Capital One Cup first round has been confirmed as the first midweek fixture of the 2013/14 campaign.
Dates have been confirmed for the 2013/14 Capital One Cup with the opening round set to take place in the week commencing August 5.
Last season Vale lost their first round tie against Championship side Burnley. Midfielder Chris Shuker gave the Valiants an early lead but goals from Chris McCann, Charlie Austin and Dean Marney helped the Lancashire side progress to the second round.
Round Two will take place in the week of August 26, with Round three the week of September 23, while Round Four is in late October and the Fifth Round is scheduled for December.
The Final will be played at Wembley on Sunday March 2.
Capital One Cup Draw Dates
Round One: w/c August 5.
Round Two: w/c August 26.
Round Three: w/c September 23.
Round Four: w/c October 28.
Round Five: w/c December 16
Semi-Finals (Leg 1): w/c January 6.
Semi-Finals (Leg 2): w/c January 20.
Final: Sunday March 2.
