Skipper can't wait to get back in amongst the action

After sitting out three games due to suspension, skipper Doug Loft can’t wait to get back in amongst the action. His return was delayed when last Saturday’s game was postponed, but the midfielder is champing at the bit.

The Vale captain said: “I want to play every game and it has been frustrating sitting it out watching the lads, but I am back now and raring to go and hopefully I will play on Friday.

“They are a very good team and every time we play them they are one of the best teams we play during the season.

“They are strong and they work well as a unit and it will be a very hard game and I am sure it will be a good game.

“But it is up to us, we have got the squad who have got us to where we are now and we have got one of the best squads in the league.

“It is all in our own hands and I think we have got a squad with enough good players to get us over the line.

minute I will be happy.th“We have to be patient. We can’t go out trying to win the game in the first five minutes, it is a ninety-minute game and if we win it in the 89

“We are due to play a lot of teams who are around where we are in the league so we have some big games coming up, but I always feel we raise our games for the bigger games so I am confident, as are the rest of the lads.”
