Once in a lifetime experience

A personal and social development programme

The Vale in the Community Trust has available up to 17 places for young men and women age 16 and 17 years of age to participate in a once in a lifetime experience.

Community Trust Manager Jim Cooper says “The NCS (National Citizens Service) programme is designed to help youngsters develop new skills, solve problems, build new relationships and put something back into their community while having a great time”.

The programme does incur a £35.00 signing on fee but each young person will be given £1500.00 of activities including full board and lodgings, safely supervised activities, all equipment provided.

The Vale in the Community NCS programme for this summer includes:

*One week Residential in Wales begins Monday 29th July

*One week Residential in Shropshire begins 5th August

*One week Planning a Social Action Project in a local area.

*One week Delivering a Social Action Project in a local area.

* Celebration Event and presentation event at Vale Park 30th August.

Activities will be chosen by young people from a menu including zip wire activities, canoeing, asbseiling, rock climbing, team activities, biking, overnight camps, archery and much more.
