Bars & Retail Manager required at Port Vale
Job Title: Bars & Retail Manager
Location: Port Vale FC
Responsible To: General Manager
Responsible For: Casual Bar Staff
Internal Liaison: General Manager, Events Manager, Chef
Scope and General Purpose-
To effectively manage all aspects of the Bar & Hospitality Operation within Port Vale FC, for both match-day and non match-day business to ensure the highest possible level of service is maintained whilst effectively controlling costs.
To implement consistent standards of operation in line with client company needs, and customer expectations, and ensure that these are adhered to at all times.
Assist Events & Hospitality team in ensuring all requirements are met, to ensure the smooth running of all events
Ensure that all location documentation is completed to the agreed standard and time scale, and that an effective system is in place for the filing, storage and retrieval of all documents.
Attend the weekly function sheet meetings.
Closely monitor performance of all retail points, taking corrective action where necessary.
Ensure that timely orders for retail food, liquor and disposables have been placed, and deliveries received, distributed and stored in accordance with company legislation.
Ensure stock control in line with company procedure to include weekly internal stock takes, monthly external stock takes.
Ensure monthly stock price checks are completed and update stock takes.
Full autonomy for all stock within Bars & Retail operation.
Strive in the achievement of exceeding customer’s expectations.
Ensure that every customer is given a polite, friendly and personal service.
Ensure that every opportunity is taken to ‘Up Sell’ to our customers.
Demonstrate an up front approach, ensuring optimum time is spent in customer service areas.
To effectively maintain, manage and develop the core part time team and provide them with the information and tools with which to achieve their roles in line with company expectation
Lead your team by communicating and motivating individuals effectively towards achievement of objectives.
Through meetings and briefings ensure regular communications at all levels within the location.
To ensure the training of employees within your department is implemented where appropriate and recorded where necessary
Actively continue and pursue your personal development to include involvement throughout the company as necessary.
Monitor all company marketing initiatives, as initiated by General Manager.
To ensure that standards and service are maintained at our excellent level to encourage repeat business.
Ensure that the systems and standards adhere to all current health and safety legislation
Optimise the profitability and the efficiency of the operation.
Take ownership for sales revenue for the operation under your management and achieve the targets.
Assist in rostering staff effectively to maximise sales opportunities whilst controlling wages.
Review period end accounts with the General Manager and agree action to address variances
Implement controls to ensure that savings are made where possible
Complete quarterly competitor analysis and establish selling prices with General Manager to ensure correct margins are achieved in line with location budget
Any other reasonable duties as requested by your manager
To assist at Company Major Events when business requirements demand.
Attend training courses designed for personal development.

Ensure that the highest level of customer satisfaction is achieved from both match days and non-match day events, by providing efficient administration, effective control of equipment and services and a high quality of food and service. Control all aspects of the operation under your management to ensure a profitable conclusion to each event.
