A look ahead to tonight's game against Dagenham & Redbridge

Despite the result at Bradford on Saturday, Vale’s current position in the league table and the form of Dagenham & Redbridge so far this season, nobody will be taking anything for granted tonight.

Nobody will be underestimating John Still’s side and Micky Adams has warned his players to expect another tough test this evening at Vale Park.

The Daggers had to wait until the weekend before finally getting their first win of the season, but they will now arrive in Burslem in a more confident mood.

Dagenham’s win over Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday came about thanks to a couple of well-rehearsed set-pieces and Vale need to be prepared for the same type of problems.

Vale worked hard in training last week to attempt to tighten up in defence following the home defeat to leaders Gillingham and they got their reward against Bradford, but tonight they face another stern test.

The Daggers have drawn two and lost two on the road so far, picking up points at AFC Wimbledon and Rochdale, whilst returning empty handed from Cheltenham and Southend.

They have only failed to find the net in two of their opening fixtures. They drew 0-0 at home to Plymouth Argyle and lost 1-0 against Northampton, also on home turf.

Boss Micky Adams has hinted that he may decide to freshen up his starting line-up again after making to changes on Saturday, following an unchanged eleven for nine consecutive games.

He will keep everybody guessing and on their toes, but apart from Lewis Haldane and Darren Murphy, he has a full squad to choose from.
