New appointments made

Port Vale is restructuring its youth department after being granted provisional  Academy status.

Sevvy Aslam becomes academy manager, while Mick Ede moves to a position of youth development coach and will continue to work with the Valiants’ Under 18s. He is joined by former player Dean Glover, who rejoined the club yesterday as youth development coach.

Port Vale manager, Micky Adams, said: “Our youth set-up continues to be an important part of the club and I am sure that the new structure will help us to develop further.

“Achieving Academy status is a clear indication of the importance that Port Vale place in its youth system and I hope that in the future, we can continue to welcome a number of faces from the academy into the first-team squad.”20120731_Youth_Latest
