Portuguese midfielder, Paulo Tavares, is no stranger to new manager Bruno Ribeiro, for whom he played at previous club, Vitoria Setubal. Born in Massarelos, Portugal, he began his career at Senhora da Hora, before moving on to Leixoes, where he spent eight years of his career.
His time at Leixoes included loan spells with Padroense, Ribeirao and Estoril. When he returned to his parent club, they were playing in the first tier of Portuguese football, until relegation in 2010. Tavares then moved on to Vitoria Setubal in 2012, making over 100 appearances during his time at the club
