Veteran midfielder Michael Brown joined Port Vale in the 2014 summer transfer window. The former Tottenham Hotspur, Leeds United and Sheffield United man has made over 150 appearances in the Premier League throughout his career.

Brown is known for his tenacious tackling and never say die attitude on the pitch. He made his debut for Vale against Walsall on the opening day of the 2014/15 season, coming on as an 86th minute substitute for Frederic Veseli.

Brown scored his first goal for the club in a 6-2 Capital One Cup victory over Hartlepool United just three days later. Despite being 38, the midfielder made 39 appearances for the club in the 2014-15 season, finding the net six times.

At the end of the 2015/16 season, Michael was named assistant manager at the club.
