A graduate of the Chelsea academy, Anthony Grant most recently spent two years at local rivals Crewe Alexandra, where he performed magnificently in both of their victories against us in the 2014-15 season. Strong and dominant in a tackle, the 28-year-old will be hoping to become a vital cog in the Vale midfield in his first season at the club after signing a two-year contract in the summer of 2015.

The midfielder brings with him a wealth of experience having played for Stevenage, Southend United, Luton Town, Wycombe Wanderers and Oldham Athletic before joining the Railwaymen, racking up almost 400 Football League appearances.

Grant made his debut in the club's opening game of the season against his former side, Crewe Alexandra. Since making his debut Grant has been an ever present in the Vale side. He scored his first goal for the club in a 3-2 win over Wigan Athletic at Vale Park in September.

In his first season at Port Vale he romped away with several Player of the Year awards.
