Jak Alnwick joined Port Vale at the beginning of August 2015. First choice goalkeeper Chris Neal suffered an injury in a pre-season clash with Notts County and manager Rob Page swooped to secure the signing of Alnwick on a short-term contract. The 22-year-old came through the ranks at Premier League side Newcastle United, making six appearances in the top flight for the Magpies in the 2014/15 season. He has also spent time on loan at non-league Gateshead and Sky Bet League One outfit Bradford City.
Alnwick made his debut for the club in the opening game of the 2015-16 Sky Bet League One campaign away at Crewe Alexandra. His impressive form was a major part in Vale's start to the season. That form earned Alnwick a brand new two-and-a-half year contract which will keep him at Vale Park until 2018.
