Reserve Squad profiles From 2013-2014 Port Vale will be using a new Reserve Squad made up of 10 players with the hope that they will progress to Micky Adams' first-team.
Ben Jefford joined the Valiants from Reading, the defensive-minded player can play at left-back or centre-back.
At 6 ft tall 18-year-old Jefford is good in the air and has experience with Basingstoke FC.
The former West Ham United right-back has had to overcome Osgood-Schlatter disease - an irritation of the patellar ligament that causes acute pain in the knees. Alexander experienced a growth spurt during his final year as a schoolboy - a common cause for the condition.
Alexander's role models are Ashely Cole and Kyle Walker and like his role models Alexander likes to get forward.
Former Wolves striker Dominic Dell joins the Vale after impressing during a trial and will now be under the guidance of coach Jimmy Bell with the hope of reaching the first-team in the future. Dell scored on his debut against Burton Albion.
Central defender Doug Price has graduated from the Vale Youth Team and will be looking to develop further after being handed his first professional contract by Port Vale.
The 5ft 9in defender likes to defend and has been a main-stay for the Vale youth side in recent seasons.
Another member of Wolves' Youth Team, 19-year-old Gary O'Neil has captained the Wolves Youth Team, he has also represented the Republic of Ireland at youth level.
Louis Tambini signed for Vale from Championship side Leicester City, the attacker born 05/11/1994 will be looking to build on his experience gained from the Foxes.
Goalkeeper Ryan Boot was handed a two-year contract by manager Micky Adams having impressed during his time with the Youth Team.
The Rocester 'keeper will be looking to follow fellow goalkeeper Sam Johnson who also progress through the Vale Academy.
The 6ft 2in left-back was handed a 12 month contract by manager Micky Adams and will now be part of the Development Squad this coming season.
The Penkridge-born defender has now been with the club a number of years and will no doubt be looking to progress to the first-team.
The winger was previously part of the Nike Academy after having spells with Premier League side Fulham and Stevenage, the 19-year-old has bags of pace.
