The Vale got going with good passing move down both wings with Osei - Siribour and Hague causing havoc but the final balls into the box not finding the forwards Cox and McGowan to convert into goals, a lot of good pressure from the Vale Youth but no goal to show in the first half.
Half time: Port Vale 0 - 1 Stockport County
As the second half began Vale yet again concede to an early goal, This again kick started the Youth who carried from the first half with most of the possession bombarding the Stockport goal but struggling to convert the chances, finally on the 70min Vale score through centre half Bratt, a short corner whipped into the box again, but this time to find Bratt who confidently rose at the back post to head in for his first goal. Vale continued to create chances with school boy Lloyd and Morsy hitting the woodwork, the constant stream of pressure saw Beeston with opportunities but unable to work the Stockport goalkeeper. Vale ended the game with a loss on a day that they should have taken points with a more of a cutting edge in front of goal.
