Last night the club became the proud recipients of a national award for their work to combat racism and promote racial equality at the club and in the community.

The club has achieved the Kick It Out Racial Equality Standard Preliminary Level, only the third Football League club to do so.

In achieving the standard, the club has worked to ensure equality policies are implemented in all areas of their operations, including administration, stewarding, recruitment and stadium outreach work.

The award was presented to the club before last night's friendly against ManchesterCity on behalf of the national Kick It Out campaign by Piara Powar, Director of the 'Let's Kick Racism Out Of Football Campaign'.

Port Vale does not tolerate racism I any form and everyone connected to the club is working hard to make sure Vale Park is free from racism and is open to fans from all communities.
