Overview of the Stadium:
After being unable to agree acceptable future rental terms the Millers moved from Millmoor to the Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield where they have agreed to play for the next 4 years. Hopefully by then their dream of a new stadium will materialise.
The Don Valley Stadium is an athletic "bowl" built for the World Student Games 1991. It has a large, coveredMain Stand which holds 10,000, used by home and visiting fans.
The rest of the stadium is all seated but with no cover, and is not usually used. This leads to a unique match-day atmosphere (or lack of it), a situation not helped by the distance of the fans from the pitch!
Where the Valiants will be housed:
The travelling supporters will be housed in block 10 of the Main Stand,, both upperand lower tier, the upper tier being more expensive. As this stand is sunk in the ground you enter the stadium half way up.
Where to Drink:
Probably the closest pubs are the Britannia on Worksop Rd. which is rather run of the mill, ad the Cocked Hat which serves good food and beer, but is rather small.
There are a number of pubs as you travel along the man road from Meadow Hall, one of them being the Wentworth which serves decent beer and food. The Carlton in Attrcliffe Road is in the Camra Good Beer Guide.
