"It takes a lot to get it out of your system, but what you have to do is to chew over what you saw.
"What is interesting is, we all have a perception of the way the game has gone five minutes after the game. If you then leave it twenty-four hours, which I do, think about things and then study the video, it shows different things up.
"We are aware of where we need to improve. But it is important you don't make a mountain out of a molehill.
"In my view, Bradford played the key moments better than we did. If you look at the chance Luke Rodgers had, it was exactly the same as the goal we conceded against Bournemouth, but their defenders got away with it and we were unable to punish them.
"There are things for us to do, but you would think Bradford were totally dominant, but if you study the DVD you would have a re-think on that one.
"We want to improve and we want to be successful, but we need to learn our lessons. It was interesting to see the DVD. In the second half we came out and more or less dictated play, then we got done later on with the sucker punch.
"These are the key moments that I am on about where we need to play better. It is important we learn to play the key moments a little bit better.
"We need to create more and be more threatening in the final third, because despite all the possession and the team being in the ascendancy, we still haven't worked the 'keeper enough. It is just fine tuning things really.
"They are an honest bunch. They are a good bunch of lads and you can't accuse this squad of players of not wanting to be successful for Port Vale.
"We obviously have to learn our lessons on the way, but it is a bizarre game and sometimes you get away with things and sometimes you don't, but we know where we need to improve."
