Port Vale will return to League action this weekend when they take on Brentford at ValePark.

Both sides will be boosted by wins in the FA Cup last weekend over Huddersfield and Havant and Waterlooville respectively.

Brentford sit ninth in League Two with 24 points while the Valiants are four places and five points behind in 13th with 19.

Vale's last result at home was a 2-1 win over Morecambe, only the second home win of the season.

The Bees have only won two games on the road so far this season and Dean Glover's side will be hoping they don't hand them their third of the season.

Former Brentford player Andy Scott has now taken up the managerial role at Brentford after a heart problem forced him to retire.

A name familiar to the Vale fans will be midfielder Craig Pead. He was all set to move to Burslem in the summer before a u-turn saw him remain at GriffinPark.

The Bees have goalkeeper Ben Harmer and defender Alan Bennett both on loan from Reading.

Vale will need to be wary of striker Charlie MacDonald who has notched six so far this season and is among the League's top scorers, as is Vale striker Marc Richards.

Vale midfielders Dave Howland and Louis Dodds were also among the goals at Huddersfield last weekend and will be looking to add to their respective tallies.

Vale's last League outing was a 1-0 win away at Lincoln, with the Valiants keeping their first clean sheet of the season and keeper Joe Anyon will be looking to put more of those to his name.

So Glover's side will be hoping they can taste a sweet victory instead of being stung by the Bees.
