85: GOAL Pope fires Vale into the lead as he curls a shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

78: CHANCE Substitute Tom Pope finds Louis Dodds on the edge of the box and his lofted ball in meets the head of Richards, but the Valiants captain could only nod over.

54: CHANCE Another opportunity goes begging for the Valiants after Sean Rigg's deflected shot goes just wide of Cole's goal.

53: CHANCE More good work down the left for Vale as Taylor's cross picks out Marc Richards on the penalty spot. The striker could only head straight at the Arygle keeper.

19: CHANCE Doug Loft  makes a winding run down the left and his cross along the six-yard box finds Williamson, but his shot is well blocked by Argyle keeper Jake Cole.

Team News

Vale boss Micky Adams keeps faith with the same starting XI that secured all three points at the Don Valley Stadium last weekend.

The only change comes on the substitutes' bench, as striker Tom Pope returns to the squad after suffering a groin strain in training last week, replacing fellow summer recruit, Phil Roe.

Defenders Gareth Owen (wrist) and Lee Collins (ankle) remain side-lined through injury, so Clayton McDonald and Doug Loft retain their places in the Valiants' back four.
