Following last night's defeat at Craven Cottage the team and its fans won a lot of respect from their opponents for the way the team played and for the way our supporters conducted themselves.

It was nice to receive the following email this morning and we thought it appropraite to share it with the fans.

As a Fulham fan I was at the match last night and I felt bound to write and congratulate both Port Vale and their fans.

Your team never gave up, never resorted to foul play and were still trying to attack in the 89th minute - having watched the brattish displays of the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea when they are losing, Port Vale were an example to them and many other so called "big" clubs.

The same goes for the fans, still singing and still supporting at the very end of the match - Fulham fans know what it's like to do just that [for years on end in our case!] and we appreciate that quality in others.

I will be looking out for Port Vale's results on Saturdays in future - and wish you the best of luck for the season ahead!
