VALE v ABERDEEN PRE-MATCH CHAT

Posted on: Tue 27 Jul 2010

Vale kick off their home friendlies tonight when they take on Scottish Premier League outfit Aberdeen (Kick off 7:30).

Vale go into the game on the back of a hectic week in Ireland where they played three games in five days before flying back on Sunday.

Aberdeen finished in the bottom half of the table in the SPL last season. Experienced pair Scott Vernon and Togo international Yoann Folly could be playing their first game for the club at ValePark tonight as Mark McGhee looks to improve his side ahead of the new season.

This is Aberdeen's 2nd game on their tour of England after they drew 1-1 at non-league Tamworth on Saturday.

The game tonight is followed by a trip to Micky Adams' old club Brighton on Saturday and they finish off their pre-season preparations with games against BrechinCity and Kaiserslautern .

One player missing from the Aberdeen line-up tonight is former Stoke loanee Lee Hendrie. He is not with the squad for their tour south of the border but could yet be playing in the SPL next season.

Vale boss Micky Adams could be looking to field his possible starting eleven for the season in tonight's game as he looks to finalise his plans for the trip to Bury on the opening day of the season.

With a home game against Walsall coming up on Saturday (kick off 3.00pm), the manager will want to have everything in place ahead of the trip to Gigg Lane.
