Posted on: Sat 17 Jul 2010

Trialist Ritchie Sutton with join the rest of the squad on the trip to Ireland after being offered a short term deal at the club by Micky Adams.

The 24-year-old, who was released by Crewe Alex three years ago, joined Vale for pre-season training recently and has impressed the Vale boss enough to earn a chance to prove himself further.

Adams said: "We have had a look at him and we think he has got a bit of potential. We are looking to develop him over the next few months and take it from there."

The Vale boss is hopeful that winger Lewis Haldane will be able to leave hospital on Monday after he suffered from what was thought to be an insect bite in training.

He said: "We are lead to believe he may be able to go home on Monday, but exectly what the situation is with his ankle right now I'm not too sure."
