The recently introduced scheme has already seen several junior schools sign up and there are several other schools showing a keen interest.

All Under 9s are currently entitled to a free Season Ticket at Vale Park for the 10/11 campaign, with the club underlining its commitment to identify and retain the next generation of Vale supporters.

As part of the Football League's 'Fans of the Future' scheme, schools can now register to take part in the initiative, with the chosen applicants adopted by a first-team player.

The player will visit the school and take part in question and answer sessions and other activities throughout the season.

In return, children under the age of 9 will be encouraged to apply for a free Season Ticket, so they can see Micky Adams' men in action at Vale Park next season.

All children must be accompanied to games by a responsible adult.
