VALE LOSE AT THE HAWTHORNS

Posted on: Wed 17 Feb 2010

Vale Reserves were beaten by West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns this afternoon despite a spirited second half fightback after being 3-0 down by half time.

A Chris Wood hat-trick inside the opening half hour of the game saw Vale trail at the break, but midway through the second half they pulled a goal back when substitute Anthony Malbon netted.

Ahortly after that Vale made it 3-2. Danny Glover's spot-kick was saved by experienced 'keeper Dean Kieley, but Glover followed up to slot home the loose ball to give the scoreline an air of respecability.
