Experienced midfielder Dave Brammer says he is happy to be back where he belongs -back in the Potteries and back on the pitch.

Brammer, who is currently on a month long loan from Millwall, admits to never really settling in London. He said: "I didn't totally move down there.

"The reason I went was because the last manager Willie Donaghie agreed to let me half commute half stay over. My family didn't come, I went on my own and I was up and down twice a week which was tough.

"It was manageable because we were winning games when I first went there. But then I had a bad injury, well it wasn't a bad injury really; it just wasn't treated properly at the time.

"I ended up out longer than I should have been and combined with being away from home it was the right time to come home. At the minute I'm just enjoying being at home every day and playing football all the time."

Now in his second spell at Vale after moves to Crewe and local rivals StokeCity, Brammer is hopeful of another prolonged stay in the area if Millwall agree to let him leave on a long term basis.

"I mean the fact that the club have helped me get me playing again in the short term and probably long term I'm not looking to go anywhere else," said the 33 year old.

"I'm just looking to play football and if Port Vale want me to stay and it can be sorted out. Then I'd look to do that.

"Both parties have got to try and come to some sort of agreement. I'm just going game by game."

If he does manage to secure a deal at the club, Brammer believes he could be involved in a very successful season at ValePark.

He added: "As the team gets more wins obviously there's a belief growing inside the dressing room that hang on a minute we could actually achieve something rather than just coming in week in week out and just winning the odd game.

"Lets get the belief that we're coming here to try to achieve something and if you've got that belief then there's a chance of it."
