Port Vale are aware of various reports that have emerged in the press today linking the club with Ched Evans.

As has been confirmed by chairman Norman Smurthwaite, the club will not be signing Ched Evans and will therefore not be holding a press conference tomorrow.

There will be no further comment made by the club on this matter.
