Vale Boss Following Defeat To MK Dons
Rob Page feels Port Vale gave a good account of themselves against MK Dons despite his side’s narrow 1-0 defeat.
Carl Baker scored the only goal of the game after just three minutes to ensure Vale’s three match winning run in Sky Bet League One came to an end.
But the Valiants battled well throughout the encounter and could have even snatched a point late on as chances fell to Chris Birchall and Ben Williamson.
Speaking to Valiant Player, Page was clearly proud of the spirit of his players against one of the division’s top outfits.
“If you’re going to lose a game of football, lose it in that manner,” he said.
“They’ve given everything to the cause; we’ve got to learn from it, we’ve got to learn from the mistakes we made for the goal.
“But, like I said, I’m proud of the effort that they have put in; we can’t accept the defeat, we can’t be happy that we’ve lost a game of football.”
