DIRECTIONS

At the end of the M54 continue onto the A5. After about seven miles, there is a traffic island which is at the junction with the A49. Bear left at this island still following the A5. At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the B4380 (Thieves Lane). Continue along Thieves Lane going straight over two roundabouts and this will lead you into Oteley Road. You will reach the stadium down further down Oteley Road on the left.

wHERE TO PARK

There is a large car park at the stadium (700 cars) is for permit holders only. And parking is prohibited in the nearby Retail Park and there are restrictions on street parking in nearby residential streets. There are a number of private car parks near to the round about. Or check the club web site for the details of a park and ride scheme they run.

THE STADIUM
Shrewsbury Town moved Grrenhous Meadow on the outskirts of the town in 2007.The New Meadow seats about 10,000 in four separate stands. Each is a covered, single tiered stand of 18 rows. A Perspex strip is below each roof allowing light into the stadium to help pitch growth. The Roland Wycherley Stand (Club Chairman) on one side is the 'Main Stand' with a press area and eight corporate boxes at its rear. If needed, the corners of the stadium can be filled with seating in the future. The areas to either side of the Roland Wycherley Stand would be the first to be developed if the Club decide to expand.

Four small floodlights pylons are present on the roofs of the side stands.

WHERE THE VALIANTS WILL BE SEATED

The North Stand (Pro Vision C-TV Stand) is allocated to the away fans also housing a prominent looking Police Control Box. The leg room is nothing special although the stands are quite steep keeping so the fans are close to the pitch. The concourses serve alcohol (although the bars close 15 minutes before kick off) as well as a range of pies and burgers, including the Shire Foods Chicken Balti Pie. There are also large plasma screens under the s

FOOD

There is a Retail Park nearby, which has some eating outlets such as a McDonalds, Pizza Hut and a supermarket cafe, but there seems to be little else apart from the chippy opposite the Charles Darwin pub. There is ample choice of food at the ground, with pies, burgers, sausage rolls and the highly recommended cottage pies, which have a “home-made” appeal.

DRINK There are a couple of pubs within walking distance of the ground. Firstly there is the 'Brooklands Hotel', by Meole Brace Island, 5 minutes walk away where you can "park and walk" with about 100 spaces costing £5 each. There is also the Charles Darwin Pub - 10 minutes walk away from New Meadow with 70 free parking spaces & a good chippy opposite. From the stadium turn right along the B4380 Oteley Road., take the second left into Sutton Road and the pub is down on the right.  The new stadium is on the very edge of town.

Alcohol is served at the ground.
