Dodds’ Message To Port Vale Fans Following Departure

26 May 2016

Former Port Vale forward Louis Dodds has issued a heartfelt message to the Club’s fans following his departure.

"I'd like to say a special thank you to the fans of Port Vale - you've all been amazing.  Dodds told port-vale.co.uk:

He scored eight goals in 2015/16, equalling his second-best return for a campaign in Vale colours.

Dodds had been the Valiants’ longest serving player having signed for the Club in 2008. He went onto make over 300 appearances during his stay in Burslem.

It was announced on Thursday that the 29-year-old will be joining fellow Sky Bet League One side Shrewsbury Town on a two-year deal.

"You have supported me through the good times and the bad, from administration to promotion.

"I have some of the greatest memories at Port Vale which made the decision to leave the hardest one I've ever had to make.

"It has been an honour and a privilege to represent the club for eight years of my career.

"I am truly grateful to the club, the coaching staff, the players and the fans for how I've been treated and what I have learnt from my time here.

"I will always have a huge amount of love and respect for both the club and the fans. I wish you all the very best for the future."

Everyone at Port Vale would like to wish Louis all the very best and thank him for his fantastic service to the Club over the last eight years.
