Under-18s Confident Heading Into FA Youth Cup Tie

17 November 2014

Youth Coach Previews Bury Clash

Pro development coach Mick Ede says Port Vale’s under-18s are heading into tomorrow night’s FA Youth Cup tie against Bury full of confidence.

The Valiants host the Shakers in the second stage of the competition, kick-off 7pm, having beaten Ellesmere Town 2-1 in the opening round.

The club’s youth team is currently on an impressive run of results and has already faced Tuesday’s opponents earlier this season.

Speaking exclusively to Valiant Player, Ede was keen to focus on the positives in the lead up to the cup-tie.

“I am all about the positives, I try and leave the negatives away,” he said.

“On the match day as soon as we get them out of the way and Monday morning when we come in and it’s all positives.

“We’ve been scoring goals, we’ve been creating chances and kept a couple of clean sheets so that’s all positive.”
