Captain's Rallying Cry

26 August 2014

Port Vale captain Carl Dickinson has given off a rally cry to everyone involved with the club to turn Vale Park into a fortress after Saturday’s disappointing result against Notts County.

The Magpies stopped Micky’s men in their tracks after a four game unbeaten start, but Carl feels that with a Capital One match coming up tonight, the lads will be looking to cause an upset against Championship side Cardiff City and get the season back on track.

Carl explained: “Saturday’s game was disappointing, but we’ve got a Cup game now and we’ve got to start off a good run to get ready for a big home game on Saturday against Chesterfield. It starts tonight; we need to make sure that we come firing out of the blocks.

“We need to turn this place into a difficult place to come, where teams coming here think this is going to be a difficult game. I’m sure the Gaffer will have us ready come kick-off.

“I think the pressure is on them to be honest with you, they’re the higher team and its up to us to put them under a bit of pressure and make them nervous.”
