Carl Dickinson named as new Port Vale captain
Micky Adams is delighted to announce his captain for the coming season as tenacious defender Carl Dickinson.
‘Dicko’ who joined the Valiants last season and signed a new 2-year deal earlier in the summer, quickly became a fan favourite with his passionate performances for the Vale.
On the appointment Adams said: “There was a few contenders for the decision and I had to think long and hard about it.
“However, I‘ve given it to Carl not only because of his attitude to the games, but also because of the way he conducts himself in and around the place and what he does on the training pitch.”
Dickinson will lead his team out for the first time in two days time (Saturday 9th August), when Vale start the 2014/15 season off against local rivals Walsall, kick-off 3pm.
The vice-captain for the coming season can be confirmed as Tom Pope.
