Youth team shake off the Shakers to set up a trip to Palace

Vale youth team came back from a goal down to chalk up a well-earned victory at Gigg Lane,

thanks to goals by Nathan Smith and Luke Beesley.

 

Both sides had chances early on with Beesley having a shot saved and then Ryan Boot made a very good save from a near post header by Tom Pratt at the other end.

 

Tom Morris hit a 20-yard effort just wide and Jack Pryor fired over as Vale began to take control. Josh Croft had a mazy run through the middle but his subsequent shot was blocked.

Vale could have scored more, but Beesley had a shot beaten away and Ollie Marland hit a shot just wide.

 

Overall a very good performance from the lads.
