Artell opts not to sign
Port Vale manager Micky Adams has revealed that David Artell will be leaving the club after refusing to sign the contract terms agreed with the administrators, the PFA and Football League.
As Port Vale remains in administration, the club has been re-issue contracts to existing Port Vale players who agreed deals at the end of last season, along with new players who joined in the summer.
However, although he originally agreed a two-year deal with the club, Artell has opted not to sign.
Said Micky: “I’m very disappointed, both personally and professionally, as I genuinely believed that Dave would stick with the club.
“These have been uncertain times for the club and I believe Dave has attracted interest from other clubs. However, we have worked with him for the whole of the pre-season period and I am very disappointed to see him leave.”
