Fixture – Port Vale vs Bristol Rovers
Date – 18th February 2017
Venue – Vale Park
Following two consecutive away trips to Gillingham and Millwall, Michael Brown and his side return to Vale Park this weekend.
Vale return looking for their first win in 2017 in just their third home game of the new calendar year.
The Valiants almost picked up three points against Gillingham last weekend and they will want to take that performance into this weekend.
It has been a fantastic season for Rovers following their back to back promotions to League One this campaign.
In their first season back in the third tier of English Football, Bristol have put themselves firmly in the play-off fight.
Although, having lost top scorer Matty Taylor to rivals Bristol City, they will be hoping they can push on and close the gap on the top six.
Purkiss: “Confidence might be a bit fragile at the moment because we are not turning that corner or seeing out the games.
“I think it is just that people, after every game, need to look at themselves and take responsibility. It's 'what can I do to give that extra five or 10 per cent to get my own house in order and then help the team.”
Clarke: “We haven't got the best individual players, but there aren't many sides that are better than we are in terms of working hard for the football club. These boys go to the extreme in terms of giving 100 per cent effort.”
Vale will be without Anthony de Freitas, who suffered a groin strain against Millwall and they could also be without defender Remie Streete.
Rovers don’t have to many injuries to worry about at the moment, with just Peter Hartley still a long term casualty.
Valiant PlayerHD will be providing full 90 minute commentary from the match, while the Port Vale Twitter and Facebook feed will be providing live updates for the entirety.
There will also be build-up to the game with the official Snapchat account: officialpvfc.
Reaction will be available on the official website post-match, as well as on YouTube, PlayerHD and social media.
